Rotkop – Trombone, Computers & Interactive Technologies.
Born in Israel at 1974 and started playing the trombone at the
age of 11.
Mr.
Rotkop studied the trombone with Zvi Ostrovsky and Stewart
Taylor (Principal trombonists of the Israel philharmonic
orchestra) and conducting with Maestro Noam Shariff.
He graduated with honors in both Trombone and Conducting at
the Tel-Aviv University Rubin's Music Academy and participated
in master classes with trombonist Benny Sluchin from the Ensemble
InterContemporain.
Mr. Rotkop is a member of the Giv'ol multidisciplinary choir
in Israel which explores the various uses of voice and sound
in both classical and aleatoric music.
He
is a member of the Reflex ensemble and was one of its original
members since its foundation.
In addition to his multifarious activities in the classical
arena, Mr. Rotkop also participated in various popular music
projects and appeared on stage with Israeli rock band the Bilu'im.
Parallel
to his diverse musical career, Mr. Rotkop also specializes
in data telecommunications and holds an Internetworking Expert
CCIE degree. Currently he works at AT&T UK as a telecom
designer, developing networking solutions to complex multinational
corporate networks. He also created and taught a computer
usage in music course at the Tel Aviv Music Academy.
Mr.
Rotkop explores the various ways of incorporaing computers
and new interactive technologies in contemporary music performances,
trying to create new level of experience to both listeners
and performers alike. |
