Cassie
Terman has been involved with Theater, Dance, and Improvisation
for the last 15 years.
After studying literature, writing,
and western dance forms she began training in Physical Theater
and Improvisation - "Action Theater"- with Ruth Zaporah
in 1991. Since then she has been performing with \the International
Action Theater Ensemble (1992-present), founded and
performed in the three-woman theater group "etiquette" (1998-2000),
performed with inkBoat (2000-2001), and currently works in collaborative duets
with Sten Rudstrom, Shinichi Koga, and Leigh Evans.
As well as collaborating
with other extremely talented artists and musicians, both as an improvisor, actor,
and director, she also regularly performs solo improvisations which incorporate
language, sound and physicality. Her one-woman show "Citizen of Trees",
a set work, opened in 2004 in San Francisco to much acclaim.
Three chapbooks
of poems were published by Rodent Press and Tiny Sisters Press (with the poet
Katie Yates), after completing an MFA at Naropa University allowing a study of
the imagination as it moves through language and the body.
Certified as an Action
Theater teacher, she
has been teaching for the last 12 years throughout the U.S. at universities,
festivals, and theater and dance organizations. She is thrilled to be working
with Keren Rosenbaum and the Reflex Ensemble. For more information on classes
